Product Information |
The automotive industry’s future relies on the communication capabilities of vehicles, and the CV2X is an international communication standard of vehicles to lead the industry forward. CV2X is promoted by hundreds of companies, including automakers, mobile operators, semiconductor companies, telecom suppliers, and road operators.
CV2X is a relatively new technical standard, which belongs to the 3GPP organization and can operate on the 5.9GHz Intelligent Transportation (ITS) spectrum, including:
1. Vehicle to Vehicle: Vehicles will connect to vehicles for safety and information sharing.
2. Vehicle to Infrastructure: Vehicles will connect to roadside infrastructure to get the information for safety and autonomous support.
3. Vehicle to Network: Vehicles will connect to networking to access the internet.
4. Vehicle to Pedestrian: Vehicles will connect to pedestrians for safety.
Working through RSU and 4G/5G small cells, taking advantage of cellular networks and highly compatible with existing infrastructure, reduces the cost and enhances the performance of transportation.
Leveraging high speed, high reliability, and low legacy of 5G NR, it delivers real-time management, 3D maps, and autonomous driving.
The Smart Traffic Light adapts with C-V2X and brings real applications on the road :
1. Pedestrian Conflict Warning:
Through AI CCTV monitoring of road environments, when potential pedestrian-vehicle accidents occur, RSU issues PCW alerts to OBU devices to remind drivers to pay attention to nearby pedestrians, reducing the risk of accidents.
2. Red Light Violation Warning:
Advise drivers of an upcoming signalized intersection and provide an alert or warning when the vehicle may violate a red light, based on their speed and distance to the intersection.
3. Transit Signal Priority:
When public vehicles approach intersections, the OBU of the vehicles sends a priority passage request to the RSU. The RSU adjusts the traffic signals based on the traffic signal status, providing services such as shortening the red light or extending the green light to facilitate smooth passage through the intersection.
4. Work Zone Warning:
When road construction occurs, RSUs nearby issue RSWZ alerts to OBUs to remind drivers to pay attention to nearby road construction and to slow down. |
