Vstrip® is diagnostic test that detects the presence of COVID-19 viral antigens. The test uses reagents that are highly-sensitive and specific to the SARS-COV-2 antigen thereby providing accurate test results. Viral antigens are present in nasopharyngeal secretions in the initial stages of infection therefore the Vstrip® can detect early COVID-19 infections, especially in individuals that have yet to display symptoms. Vstrip® works by first using a swab to collect samples from the nasal cavity, which is then placed and mixed into the reagent solution. The Vstrip® test strip is then placed into the reagent solution and provides fast results within only 10 minutes. Because of its ease-of-use, this point-of-care test can be used both professionally and personally. Also, without the use of specialized equipment and labour, the test can be performed at a fraction of the cost of other COVID-19 testing methods. |
