"Yachiyokai Medical Corporation was founded in 1992 in Akitakata City, Hiroshima, by Chairman Mr. and Mrs. Hideo Kang, second-generation overseas Chinese in Japan. Guided by the philosophy of “bringing happiness to the elderly with a spirit of hospitality,” the group began with Yachiyo Hospital and has since expanded to offer integrated medical and eldercare services across both rural and urban settings.
In 2005, Yachiyokai established Merry House Seifu Shinto, a senior care facility in Hiroshima City, followed by MERRY HOSPITAL and MERRY days, a serviced senior residence located on the hospital’s upper floors, embodying the concept of “living within the hospital.” Today, the group operates about 1,800 beds across rehabilitation hospitals, long-term care facilities, and senior housing.
MERRY HOSPITAL provides regional medical support with specialized wards for rehabilitation, chronic conditions, acute care following hospital or home treatment, and since 2020, a palliative care ward for cancer patients. In 2021, the hospital added a Home Care Support Center (staffed by 18 specialists), a Health Checkup Center for preventive and regular screenings, and a Rehabilitation Center to ensure seamless continuity of care from inpatient to home or outpatient rehabilitation.
Through this comprehensive model, Yachiyokai continues to uphold its mission of making healthcare a pillar of life and creating care that enriches everyday living." |
